Old City Ordinances

Posted on November 9, 2012 at 10:56 AM by mary flanary

We are happy to announce that all of the Rexburg City Ordinances are now available to read on our website by clicking on "Government" and then on "Ordinances".  We have worked many months on translating, typing, formating and publishing all the ordinances that go back to 1899. It's interesting to see what ordinances were necessary back in the early 1900's.  From horse hitching rules to outlawing immoral dances and from building plank sidewalks to licensing traveling circus shows.  There is even one that got vetoed by the mayor and then over ruled by the council regarding theaters being open on Sunday. We hope you will enjoy reading these as much as we have.  We would love to hear your comments.

Fall Yard Clean Up

Posted on October 9, 2012 at 9:13 AM by mary flanary

It's that time of year again.  Every Spring and Fall the City of Rexburg schedules a month for city residents to put their yard clean up waste out on the curb to be picked up.  This is a great opportunity to get all those leaves, branches, garden waste, etc. hauled away.  Please bag all leaves, weeds and small items.  Branches need to be cut down to 4 foot lengths and bundled in bundles that are light enough to be lifted into a truck by one person.  The dates for yard pick up will be October 15th to November 16th.  If you have any questions, you can call City Hall at 359-3020.  Thank you, and happy cleaning!
