The City of Rexburg is an organization that works to serve the members of the community.
The City’s structure is divided up into different departments that provide services
that tend to specific needs. From the water you drink to the police forces that
protect you, the City of Rexburg makes Rexburg a wonderful place to live, work,
and play.
- Community Affairs
Handles communications to the public as well as coordinates cultural arts facilities
and events.
- Community Development
Comprised of the Building Official, Permit Technician, five Building Inspectors, Planning
and Zoning Coordinator and Compliance Officer. All of which assist with
construction within the city by issuing building permits, assisting with zoning questions
and inspecting for code compliance.
- Customer Support Services
Comprised of City Clerk and Receptionists that assists with utility payments, documents
and archive of city records and ordinances, run city elections, coordinate garbage
collections, and provide sources of information to questions.
- Legal
Comprised of City Attorney that represents the city in all legal proceedings and
is involved in all claims against the City of Rexburg as well as acting as the Prosecuting
Attorney for the City.
- Parks
Maintains all aspects of city parks.
- Police
Comprised of Chief of Police, Detectives and Police Officers that keep the public
trust, provide crime prevention, offer safety training, and handle animal control.
- Public Works
Comprised of City Engineer, Foremen, and Teams that maintain physical functions
of the city such as builds streets, bridges, walkways, etc., and controlling the
city’s water system and disposes of city waste.
- Recreation
Directs the city sponsored recreation programs.
- Emergency Services
Comprised of Firemen and Paramedics that handle all emergency calls in Rexburg and
Madison County.
- Financial Management
Comprised of City Treasurer, Financial Officers and Clerks that handle financial
planning, manage the inflow and outflow of the city’s money, Human Resources and
payroll, and archives fiscal records.
- GIS
Comprised of GIS Specialists that keep all city and county maps up-to-date and facilitates
the tracking of permits.
- Human Resources
Managed by the City Finance Officer who helps conduct hiring within the City.
- Information Technology
Comprised of I.T. Manager and Assistants that maintain functionality and security,
providing computer assistance, maintaining the City’s website, and handle the use
of graphics and visual media.
