The Investigation Division of the Rexburg Police Department is responsible for investigations
of criminal activity within the City of Rexburg, as well as assisting other agencies
that may need our assistance.
Our goal in investigations is to bring to justice those who have committed a criminal
act and to help restore losses to victims. We work closely with the Madison County
Prosecutors and City Prosecutor Offices to prepare criminal cases for prosecution,
assist in helping victims, and in getting the criminal the treatment they may need.
We are responsible for the investigations of property thefts, property damage, robbery,
sex crimes, drugs, arson, child abuse, fraud, and death investigation cases. We
work closely with victims to ensure that they also receive justice.
Along with the investigation of crimes, we also work to be proactive against crime
by teaching classes on
Shaken Baby
Syndrome and Drug Abuse, as well as a variety of other subjects.
The Investigation Division currently has three full time investigators as well as
one Detective assigned strictly to drugs and narcotics cases. Our investigators
have over seventy years of combined experience in Law Enforcement and two of them
have graduated from the FBI National Academy, in Quantico Virginia. We have specialized
training in Crime Scene Investigation, Evidence Collection, Interviewing, Child
Abuse and Sex Crimes. We also have training in Composite Drawings.
As with anything, we have learned that the more help we can get the more likely
we will be able to successfully complete our tasks. We would encourage anyone with
information about a criminal activity to contact us. Your name will be kept confidential.
Help us make our community a safer place to live.
