Rexburg is going GREEN. There are so many ways for a person to help the environment,
and recycling is one of them. The “Rexburg Recycles” program provides city and area
residents with drop-off stations where the residents can come and separate their
recyclables into blue recycle bins.

It is the responsibility of the patron to sort and place the recyclables in the bins.
Please do not drop bags of recyclables to the side of the bins. If a bin is full call
the City of Rexburg at 359.3020.
- #1 Plastics (Water, soda, cooking oil, and salad dressing bottles.)
- #2 Plastics (Shampoo bottles, milk jugs, and plastic grocery bags.)
- Aluminum Cans (Aluminum cans only)
- Office Pack (Printer and notebook paper, envelopes, and manila folders)
- Newspaper/Catalogs (Newspapers, magazines, phone books, and catalogs)
- Corrugated Cardboard (Corrugated cardboard only)
Plastics
- Look on the bottom of the plastic item for the number inside a triangle of arrows.
- Throw away lids, they are made of a different number of plastic.
- Wash out and collapse all plastic items.
- #1 and #2 plastics are to be kept separate, make sure they are place in the correct bin.
Aluminum Cans
- Please empty and crush the cans.
Office Pack
- Remove all spiral binding and metal tabs.
- Please do NOT drop off the following: glue bound paper, construction paper, shredded paper and plastic materials.
Newpaper/Catalogs
- Remove all spiral binding and metal tabs.
Corrugated Cardboard
- Breakdown all boxes.
- Please do NOT drop off the following items: cereal boxes, paper plates, or boxes with grease or food stains.
- Separate your recyclables at home to make for a quick and easy drop off.
- When purchasing items at the store, opt for the product that is packaged in a material that our recycling program accepts.
The United States Conference of Mayors, Novelis Corporation and Keep America Beautiful Inc.,
have partnered to encourage and assist U.S. cities with their sustainable recycling efforts.
The challenge will award twelve $5,000 awards to participating municipalities and four $2,500
awards to KAB affiliates.
The City of Rexburg is encouraging everyone to put forth an extra effort in recycling aluminum
cans during the month of October. If Rexburg can be one of the top five cities to recycle the
most cans during the month, then “Rexburg Recycles” will be awarded $5,000 to enhance its program.
Along with the blue recycle bins, the following businesses will have recycle boxes at their location
for aluminum cans:

- Uptown Bagel
- Millhollow Frozen Yogurt
- Beehive Federal Credit Union
- Kmart
- Mom's Kandy Kitchen
