Jordan Busby was born in Tucson, Arizona and raised in Mesa. He is the ninth child of eleven children. He graduated from Westwood High School in 1984 and served an LDS mission from 1985-1987 in the Idaho Boise Mission. He received his associate’s degree from Ricks College, and his B.A. degree from Lewis- Clark State College with an emphasis in elementary education. He has also earned his Masters and Educational Specialist degree from Idaho State University. Jordan taught school in Lewiston, Culdesac, and Idaho Falls Idaho before moving to Rexburg where he was offered an administrative position as principal of Burton and Hibbard Elementary. He has also been principal of Lincoln Elementary and is currently an administrator at the Madison High School. Jordan married the former Melanie Jenkins from Declo Idaho whom he met while attending college in Rexburg. The Busby family includes seven children, Summer, Julia, Jacob, Juliann, Janay, Jaylyn and Jyrikka. Jordan has been employed by Madison School District 321 since 2002. Jordan was elected to the Rexburg City Council in 2012. His platform centers on transparency in government. He actively encourages patrons to get involved and become part of the solution. His assigned liaison responsibilities are Traffic and Safety committee, Airport board and GIS committee. His is on the police and emergency services oversight committees. Jordan enjoys tinkering, bartering, auctions and all kinds of hard work, but his new found enjoyment centers on his three grandchildren and spoiling them. He loves living in Rexburg and wants to help it continue to be America’s Finest Family community.
