Local and Regional Resources

The Regional Development Alliance, Inc. (RDA)

The RDA is a private, non-traditional business finance corporation located in Idaho Falls, Idaho. The RDA manages a sizeable regional business investment fund and a micro business loan program. In addition to managing business investment funds, the RDA also serve as the Community Reuse Organization (CRO) for the Idaho National Laboratory (INL). For more information visit the RDA's website.

The Development Company

The Development Company serves both local businesses and governments in order to develop and expand the potential of local businesses by offering loans, Workforce development programs, an Incubator Program, and development planning services for governments. Madison Economic Partner's, Inc. (MEPI)

Madison Economic Partners, Inc. (MEPI) mission is to help create opportunities for economic development in Madison County; through business expansion, retention, and attraction. Madison Economic Partners, Inc. supports and promotes healthy policies and activities, which will contribute to the economic stability and growth of Madison County. Eastern Idaho Entrepreneurial Center

The Research and Business Development Center or RBD Center, focuses on developing businesses through research and consultations. Since its start in 2008, the RBD-Center has worked with over 200 clients, and offers a wide variety of projects to meet their clients’ needs by facilitating strategic decision making.  website.

The Southeast Idaho Research Institute

The Southeast Idaho Research Institute or SIRI is a nonprofit organization designed to facilitate collaboration between researchers at BYU-Idaho and other institutions and organizations in Southeast Idaho. SIRI's mission is to:

  • Provide mentored research experiences to students in SE Idaho
  • Promote scientific research
  • Promote practical applications of new technology

The Rexburg Area Chamber of Commerce

The Rexburg Chamber of Commerce is a private, non-profit, membership-driven organization comprised of 500+ business enterprises, civic organizations, educational institutions and individuals. State and Federal Government Funding

U. S. Small Business Administration

The SBA provides a number of financial assistance programs for small businesses that have been specifically designed to meet key financing needs, including debt financing, surety bonds, and equity financing. Visit SBA'swebsite for more detailed information.

Other Government Funding and Grants

Other government grants come from local, state and federal agencies that spend billions of dollars each year for procurement, research and consultant services. Startup companies may wish to partners with a larger company and serve as a subcontractor or pursue small business set aside contract/grant opportunities.
