RECREATION FACILITIES MANAGER: $46,891 - $52,746 annually DOQ. Full Benefits. Perform the management duties associated with Rexburg Rapids, Splash Pad, and Kidsburg/The Zone including: public interaction and sales, recruiting, hiring, training, daily operations, supervising staff and enforcing rules, and maintaining records and reports. Graduation from college with a bachelor’s degree in a related field; and two (2) years of facility management, certified swimming instruction, or related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Special Qualifications: NSPF Certified Pool Operator or NRPA Aquatic Facility Operator, ARC Lifeguard, ARC LGI, Professional Rescuer CPR-PR, AED and First Aid, ARC Water Safety Instructor or equivalent. Must be familiar with and comply with the rules and certifications as set forth by the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare and as published in the  Rules Governing Construction and Operation of Public Swimming Pools in Idaho.

Considerable knowledge of principles and practices of managing recreation/aquatic facilities; the philosophy and objectives of community recreation facilities; the rules and regulations of a variety of aquatics and recreational activities; public relations and marketing of recreation facilities; modern office management practices and procedures; budget preparation and control; basic accounting and bookkeeping; interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy; common recreational, cultural and social needs of various age groups; and principles and practices of supervision and training; state and federal regulations governing facility and pool operations; climate control systems; aquatics structures; water filtration systems; chemical handling; air balancing systems; public health standards related to pool operations; considerable skill in interpersonal relations and cooperative problem-solving.

Incumbent of the position performs in a climate controlled environment, on occasions the incumbent may work in hot or cold weather, and during the aquatic season, the incumbent will need to work evenings and weekends and on occasion lift at least 50 pounds. Related hazards may be encountered under controlled conditions including chemicals associated with a pool; contact with blood borne pathogens, (and other) body fluids; and other communicable diseases. Tasks require variety of physical activities, generally involving muscular strain, such as walking, standing, stooping, sitting, reaching, talking, hearing and seeing. Common eye, hand, finger dexterity exist. Mental application utilizes memory for details, verbal instructions, emotional stability, discriminating thinking and creative problem solving. Periodic travel required in normal course of job performance. Workers are frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electric shock.
