Bids & RFPs

When the City of Rexburg has a substantial project that they need to outsource to an external company, the City will post a Request for Proposal, or an RFP. An RFP is a document posted by the City that is open to potential operators or vendors to announce a project and request proposals to fulfill the requested need. This allows the City to review the submitted proposals and make and informed decision that allows the City to choose the one that best fits the project's budget and needs.

A bid is a response from a vendor or contractor to the City's RFP in order to perform the work for the proposed project. Successful bids should include the information outlined in the RFP. This typically includes an estimate of the materials and labor costs required to complete the project, as well as a proposed timeline for completion. A bid also often outlines how the contractor will manage the project and reflect their vision for the final product.
