Safe Streets for All Survey Background Story
The City of Rexburg received a Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) Grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT). This grant supports communities working to prevent serious traffic injuries and deaths for all ages and abilities.
As part of the Grant, a Safety Action Plan is being developed to identify roadway safety concerns. Whether you walk, bike, drive, or use a wheelchair, we need your input. This effort incorporates elements from the national "Vision Zero" movement, aiming for zero traffic-related deaths and serious injuries.
To reach this goal, we’re using the USDOT’s Safe Systems Approach, which designs roads to be forgiving of human mistakes. Safety is shared among drivers, pedestrians, cyclists, City, and first responders. This approach focuses on Safe Roads, Safe Speeds, Safe People, and strong Post-Crash Care.
We want your feedback on what changes matter most to protect our community!
