Rexburg! 🎉 We are so excited to “Celebrate Youth” with you and Madison School District #321 today at Porter Park! It’s one of the biggest community traditions of the year, and we can’t wait to see families and students come together to kick off the school year. 🍎✏️
That said… sometimes life throws us lemons (or in this case, a few construction cones). 🚧 Road work unexpectedly began today alongside Porter Park on S 2nd W. While this wasn’t communicated to City teams ahead of time to avoid this scenario, we’re making lemonade of it together. That section of the road is reduced to one lane of traffic in each direction. With that in mind, avoiding that area as much as possible is advised, particularly during today's event, which is from 2-7 pm.
👉 Please allow yourself extra time when heading to the event and watch for construction and community traffic that will be heavy in the area.
An alternative to consider, the school district is offering two shuttles for convenient parking and transportation from the Junior High and Middle School parking lots. 🚍
Thank you for your patience, positivity, and community spirit. We’ll make lemonade out of this one, Rexburg style! 💛 See you at the park!

The elephant in the sanitation room these days...“That Guy.”
We all know them…someone who thinks “if the mattress fits, it sits.” They dump their smelly, old couch where it doesn’t belong and act like they own the parking lot, leaving their vehicles in unmarked places, blocking dumpsters like it’s a trend.
“That Guy’s” actions can be dumpster fires for everyone. In the case of dumpsters, they don’t get dumped!
Furniture and mattresses in dumpsters aren’t just taboo; they cause big problems for the sanitation team, from truck damage to excessive route times. And if sanitation drivers can’t reach dumpsters or there are unallowed items in there, they can’t take out the trash!
So don’t be “That Guy.”
And if you know “That Guy,” help us out and spread the word.
We’re asking everyone to help keep this sanitation operation...sanitary. Because no one wants to be around a mountain of trash thanks to “That Guy”.

The City of Rexburg is preparing a bond measure for the November ballot for the construction of a new Rexburg Police Station. This evening, our City Council members will host a town hall Q&A before tonight's Council meeting to present and discuss information about the initiative with the community.
We invite you to join us this evening to learn more about the measure at 5:30 pm this evening (7/16/2025) @ Council Chambers: 35 N 1st E. Enter through the back of the City Hall for the main entrance to Council Chambers. We hope to see you there.

This year, we're pleased to present our annual 4th of July Fireworks Celebration powered by Toyota from TWO unique locations! Watch the skies toward the center of town to see the display at Riverside Park or look west for the display at the Teton Lakes Golf Course!
Bangs and Booms are sure to conquer the skies this evening - remember to celebrate safely. We hope you enjoy the show!

We're so excited for the Rexburg 4th of July parade to sprinkle some star-spangled cheer on our streets this week! A heads-up: if you start decorating City property—like parks, sidewalks, streets, or alleys—with things like blankets, chairs, or coolers before 6:00 pm on July 3rd, our City crews will turn it into a game of finders keeprs, collecting your goodies to stash away until you can retrie them after the holiday.
Keeping it festive and fun is kind and courteous to all the parade goers, and as always, be safe. Keep little firecrackers (and big ones, too) out of the street at all times during the parade; that Tootsie Roll can wait! We also recommend bringing your sunscreen and water bottles to avoid getting overheated. Nobody likes a passed-out passerby.
Once the confetti settles, head over to Porter Park for exciting activities and delicious food waiting for your arrival! The Party in the Park is sure to keep the spirit going all day long! We can't wait to celebrate this holiday with you!
We have to give a special shout-out to the @Rexburg Area Chamber of Commerce for dedicating their tireless efforts to making these two events happen. Their commitment to our community is truly commendable. We’re grateful for their dedication and can’t wait to see the results of their efforts come to life in just a few days!

Rexburg sends a BIG shoutout to Toyota for being the title sponsor for the 2025 Rexburg 4th of July Fireworks Celebration! The City of Rexburg and Madison County share additional sponsorships for this year's show, which is sure to delight and amaze. Look to the sky around 10 pm this Friday, the 4th of July, 2025!

City Hall and our affiliated offices will be closed on Friday, July 4th, in honor of the Fourth of July. Emergency Services and our recreation facilities will remain in operation as usual.
Trash and recycling pickup, normally scheduled for Friday, will be picked up on Saturday, July 5th.
We hope you enjoy your holiday! Stay Safe, Rexburg!

Be a part of the celebration by running in our annual Main Street Mile! The race runs the route of the parade before the floats take over the street to cheering crowds along the entire way. This is such a fun way to celebrate the 4th, and we know you don't want to miss it! Register for the race online at rexburgraces.com.

We are so excited for our new all-abilities play equipment over at Smith Park that we're hosting a ribbon cutting to thank the generous donors of these two fun play pieces! Join us at Smith Park this Friday, June 27th, at 10:00 am to help us give a special thanks to the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation for the donation of the whirl, and the Rocky Mountain Power Foundation for the donation of the swing!
Bring the kids, let's play and have some fun!

The Rexburg 4th of July Fireworks display is always a sight to behold! It's back this year thanks to @DriveToyotaNW & Stones Toyota of Rexburg!
Come celebrate our freedom with us on the 4th with this grand display in the sky!

On Juneteenth, we honor the past, celebrate progress, and recommit to building a future of true equality.
City Hall and our affiliated offices will be closed on Thursday, June 19th, in honor of Juneteenth. Emergency services will remain in operation as usual.
Trash normally picked up on Thursday, the 19th, will be picked up on Friday, the 20th.
Let freedom ring!

Safe and Happy Travels, Rexburg!

Today, as the Teton Dam Marathon races through Rexburg and the Flood of Memories film shows at the Romance Theater, we as a community remember the tragedy that took place as an origin story for both of today's events. Next year marks 50 years since the dam broke in 1976, unleashing 80 billion gallons of water on the communities below. In preparation, the Rexburg Cultural Arts Department is compiling a series of events and activities to commemorate that community-defining disaster.
Introducing "Flood 50". Over the next 12 months, please join us in remembering stories, serving our communities, and reconnecting with our past.
Visit Rexburg Cultural Arts online for more info. rexburgarts.org

🚦🏃♂️ATTENTION REXBURG!
The Teton Dam Marathon is coming through town this Saturday, June 7th, and with it, you might encounter traffic delays and a few street closures to ensure the safety of all participants. Please note: the route has been updated this year—affected streets on the east and southeast side of town will be closed starting at 5 am and reopen after the last runner passes through, usually by 2 pm.
Check out our graphic here of the Rexburg route, or visit our interactive Construction Impact Map online for more details. This exciting event attracts thousands of visitors to Rexburg, so expect longer wait times and increased traffic across town. Let’s show our hospitality by being patient and allowing yourself some extra time to reach your destination this Saturday.

Thank you for helping us make this a safe and enjoyable event for all, and best of luck to all the runners!

Due to unforeseen circumstances (our boiler is having trouble), we regret that we have to delay the opening date of Rexburg Rapids.
We hope to be ready for opening on Monday, June 9th. How important are heated pools anyway? Only kidding. We can't wait to see you when the water warms up!

Our bi-annual pancake breakfast is back! Join us on Father's Day weekend (Saturday, June 14th) for a tasty morning treat! This event always draws a big crowd. Arrive early to get breakfast - free while supplies last!

The City's Annual budget is a complicated process between departments, our finance office, the Mayor, and the City Council. It's time for budget presentations for our next fiscal year. At this week's City Council Meeting, our Finance Officer, Matt Neilson, will present the proposed City budget to the City Council. Join us for this annual City Budget Meeting! Residents are invited to come learn more about requests, approvals, and the process as a whole. We hope you take advantage of this opportunity to see how decisions are made at the City that work to support our community’s growth and services. City Council meetings are held on the first and third Wednesday of each month. The next meeting, our budget meeting, will be this Wednesday. June 4th, at 6:30 pm.
