February: Texture

Week 1: Texture in everyday things.

This month students are encouraged to come wearing clothing that can get painted. We always have aprons on hand, but oftentimes that paint doesn't stay where we want it to!

This class we will learn how to use textures in the world around us to create texture in art. We will be making sample texture cards with rubbings, printings, painted textures and more!

Week 2: Texture Mountain Landscape

Today we will be exploring and using a variety of textures to play and create extra visual excitement while painting a simple mountain scene.

Week 3: Texture in feathers

Today we will be exploring texture by painting feathers! Students will each come home with a project that explores using textures to paint beautiful feathers.

 Week 4: Zentangle Abstract Textures

We will be exploring textures in all their varieties as we create a mesmerizing abstract Zentangle piece! These classes are for artists of all experience levels but designed with beginners in mind. Each class is led by short instructor demonstrations through each step and technique of the entire project.

February: Texture

Week 1: Texture Every Day

This class we will learn how to use textures in the world around us to create texture in art. We will be making rubbings, printings, painted textures and more!

Today in this whimsical project, we will be exploring texture while painting Feathers!

We will be exploring textures in all their varieties as we create a mesmerizing abstract Zentangle piece!

Classes are held on Thursdays, both mornings at 10 am and evenings at 7pm!

Each class is led by short instructor demonstrations through each step and technique of the entire project.

February: An Exploration of Texture

Week 1: Texture Every day.

In this class we will be exploring the endless possibilities of creating texture with watercolor. Creating a card system of possible textures to use in later project.

Week 2: Textured Mountain landscape

This class will be exploring texture to create depth and interest while painting a mountain landscape.

Week 3: Feathered Crow

This class will explore textures and techniques that suggest different textures of animals as we paint a Feathered friend.

Week 4: Zentangle Abstract Textures

We will be exploring textures in all their varieties as we create a mesmerizing abstract Zentangle piece!
