February: Texture

 Week 4: Zentangle Abstract Textures

We will be exploring textures in all their varieties as we create a mesmerizing abstract Zentangle piece! These classes are for artists of all experience levels but designed with beginners in mind. Each class is led by short instructor demonstrations through each step and technique of the entire project.

March: Art Journaling

Week 1: Intro to art Journaling- Artful borders and boundaries

In this class we will be building our own art journals! After creating a simple book, we will explore different types of journaling borders to help students get a feel for how many ways they can begin a creative journey.

Week 2: Watercolor Journaling: History- Poems, recipes, calendar day

We will be taking a small step into historical grimoires, with pages of family secret recipes, poetry, or a memorable day. Students are asked to please come prepared with an example or two they might want to work from.

Week 3: Journaling Whimsical plants, shrubs and stones

We will be exploring simplified outdoor elements and how to paint them in several styles- limited palette, and pen and ink.

This class is going to go over everything you need to get into watercolor on the go. We will cover supplies, techniques, styles and more. Class members will get to try techniques and styles learning to find what a good fit is for your own life!
